Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, salt, and chia seeds. Stir well.
  4. Add the mashed banana, neutral oil, honey, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Firmly press the mixture into the prepared pan, ensuring an even layer.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes until golden.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to prevent browning.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack completely.
  10. Once cooled, lift out using the parchment paper, and slice into squares or rectangles with a serrated knife.
